The ambiance gets you right away before you’re even greeted by the wonderful staff. Next comes the menu, and delicious warm bread with salt crusted butter. Our waiter, Micheal, was sharp and knowledgeable which added to our experience. The French onion Soup with the puff pastry was spot on. My wife’s Delmonico steak was worth the 85 dollar charge, my 10 oz filet Oscar was worth the up charge which came with a sizable portion of crab. The charred crust of each steak was prepared to perfection, both steaks a perfect medium. Chocolate bar dessert to go was a hit after the drive home. The bill was pricey for sure, but you get what you pay for. Maybe stick to anniversary or special occasions. Thanks again!

Unbelievable meal!! From moment one with their hot fresh bread straight out of the oven, to the delicious steaks and sauces, excellent wine selection, and incredible desserts our large party could not have been more happy with the food environment or the service. I highly recommend!

When Salt and Char made Bobby Flay’s favorites list, I knew we had to try it ourselves. I had an odd experience while I was there. The hostess seemed to assume I couldn’t afford the restaurant. While I had an otherwise incredible experience and I whole heartedly recommend the food, the interaction came off a bit odd. When I arrived, the hostess asked me an uncomfortable amount of times whether or not I was there for a special occasion. I told her no, it wasn’t our anniversary or some monumental event, we were just here to appreciate the food. She asked me if I was sure and I said I was. When I was seated she took a look at my companion and I and told me what steaks were shareable. I thought it was odd but she was friendly so we continued. She was thoughtful about my Coach purse and brought me a stool for it so it would not sit on the floor. I thought that was a nice touch. When the waitress appeared, she was cordial and sweet. We had a great experience. I ordered a steak, cosmo, and eventually a dessert of a tart made in house with a scoop of ice cream. My companion ordered wagyu and a dessert. The flavor was incredible. The desserts were rich and not overly sweet. The food, on its own merit, was worth going. When we went to pay, the hostess again asked us if we were sure we weren’t there for some special reason. To end the conversation quickly I just said his birthday is soon. And she said, “Oh makes sense.” And we left. I won’t say how much we spent but it wasn’t a modest amount. I was there to relax and enjoy myself. In the future, I would just like to be left alone to enjoy this incredible food. Despite the weird interactions, I would highly, highly recommend this restaurant. The food is incredible the rest of the staff is nice and attentive. The atmosphere is dark and intimate. You won’t be disappointed.

Expensive, but expected. Stepping right off the street restaurant with reservations was louder than expected. If you want quiet, definitely look into sitting within the hotel. Very tasty experience. Lovely leather details. Extensive wine list, fun cocktails. Expected choices and some unique ones. All the food was divine in taste, not too salty, well portioned, well presented. Very limited for food allergies or gluten sensitivities. Wait staff, servers, and bussing staff all very courteous. Restrooms are far away in the hotel. Not bad. Just be away.

Another nice restaurant, can't go wrong in this town. However, they really need to improve their beer choices. Less IPAs and more dark beers please. Good and service both excellent.

After an evening walk exploring downtown Saratoga. We decided to finish off our food experience eating dessert at Salt and Char. We had a tough time picking the dessert and we finally narrowed it down to Samoa cheesecake or chocolate creme Brulee. We ended up going with the latter and we weren't disappointed. The dessert had the right amount of sweetness, crunch and texture that just melted in your mouth. The place was packed, has great ambience, and has outdoor seating. I would have chosen outdoor, but with the restaurant about to close we settled down inside.

Food and drinks were incredible. Waiter was super friendly and helpful. Was it worth the extremely steep price? Probably not. But still an excellent meal. Can’t recommend the creme brulee enough!!

Really good food and service. I had the Delmonicco, their version of a Ribeye. I think I like Ribeye better, but it was a great steak. Somewhere between Barrets in LV and Chicago and SW in LW. Joe Allen's in Abilene TX in its heyday was the best, but not anymore. I'll come back, it was for certain the best steak I've had in Upstate NY.
